L'Euromed Meeting nasce nel 1998 a Cariati, sulla costa ionica calabrese, come pionieristico esperimento interterritoriale di Erasmus all'inverso: invitare ed ospitare studenti universitari a frequentare, attraverso la messa in palio di borse di studio, un periodo di formazione estivo (con lezioni in aula e workshop) nelle periferie sud dell'Unione Europea. Marketing territoriale, formazione, integrazione socio-culturale e promozione dal basso della cittadinanza europea.

Dinamiche e Risultati

Sono, queste, le dinamiche ed i risultati che ogni anno Otto Torri sullo Jonio si prefigge e raggiunge, promuovendo e gestendo un evento itinerante che continua a rappresentare un unicum nel Sud Italia, per format e numeri (circa 600 partecipanti dalla 1° edizione). Riconosciuto, apprezzato e sostenuto da numerose e prestigiose istituzioni nazionali e comunitarie, dal Presidente del Parlamento Europeo al Capo dello Stato, realizzato grazie a diverse e consolidate sinergie imprenditoriali ed associative, il Meeting Euromed a partire dalla 9° edizione del 2010, è diventato un evento nazionale grazie al sostegno del Ministero della Gioventù guidato da Giorgia MELONI.

Territorial Marketing, Training and European Citizenship

The Euromed Meeting was created in 1998 in Cariati, on the Ionian coast of Calabria, as an Erasmus inter-territorial pioneering experiment in another way: through the offer of a study scholarship, to invite and host university students to attend a period of summer training (with classroom and workshop lectures), to be held in the southern periphery of the European Union, on the subjects of territorial marketing, training, socio-cultural integration and promotion of European citizenship from below.

Dynamics and Results

These are the dynamics and results from the event that Otto Torri sullo Ionio sets up and achieves on the Ionian sea every year; the promotion and management of an itinerant event that continues to represent a unique example in southern Italy, both for format and number (about 600 participants since the 1st edition). It is recognised, appreciated and sustained by a number of prestigious national and Community institutions, and from the President of the European Parliament to the Head of State, and realised through different, consolidated synergies, both entrepreneurial and associative; the Euromed Meeting, starting with the 9th edition of 2010, has become a national event thanks to the backing of the Ministry for Youth, led by Ms Giorgia MELONI.
